Mel: Two points dropped, again

Pepe Mel refused to criticise his Real Betis side for their goalless draw with Real Valladolid, but did see the result as two points dropped.

Week 23’s Monday night hosts played out a 0-0 result against Valladolid to record a third consecutive game without scoring a goal.

“I think we played well and only lacked the goals,” commented Mel at full-time.

“Generally we have won these type of games before, but we must also recognise that in attack we had a team that played well and creates good chances.

“The merit is ours, even if for the three or four chances created that in football usually result in a goal, did not.

“I sincerely believe that we have lost again, for a third time, two points, but I cannot fault the performance of the players, who have worked very hard.”
