JIM: Malaga game a six-pointer

Juan Ignacio Martinez sees double value in Levante beating Malaga this weekend, for the race to Europe.

Los Granotes entertain the fourth placed Anchovies at Ciutat de Valencia this Saturday evening five places below them in the table. However, that gap is in real terms much closer, with the positions split by only three points.

“We will have to be particularly attentive in this game,” Martinez told reporters in the build-up to Week 23.

“Malaga are the team with the fewest goals conceded away from home in the League, and we have to add into that consideration of the offensive potential that they have.

“The message I send my players is that this Malaga game is not one for three points, but for six points.

“If we win, we will take a giant step towards our goal, even if after the game we know we’re only getting three points.

“We hope to continue our good form at home.”
