Juan Ignacio Martinez has praised Espanyol as his Levante lost 3-2 to the Periquitos on Saturday evening.
Goals from Sergio Garcia, Christian Stuani and an own goal from Vicente Iborra were enough to give the Corneila-El Prat team the three points.
And the 48-year-old Coach has admitted that his men were punished for poor defensive errors.
“A defeat like that is hard to take,” he told a Press conference. “To score two goals away from home and still not win is tough.
“We know though, that we were coming here to face a tough opponent. They play good, dynamic football – and they have to be congratulated for that.
“The second and third goals killed us, but we did not give up, and I'm proud of that.”
