Athletic Bilbao Coach Marcelo Bielsa has claimed that his side deserved to beat Real Valladolid on Friday evening.

The San Mames side came from behind to claim a 2-2 draw at Nuevo Jose Zorrilla, but the Argentine tactician was disappointed that his team couldn't claim a third goal and all three points.

“We deserved to win,” he told a Press conference. “Overturning a 2-0 deficit has merit, but after that we should have gone on to win the game.

“We dominated overall, defended well and attacked with purpose. I think we just lacked vigour going forward and calmness in front of goal.”

The 57-year-old also commented on Aritz Aduriz's elbow to the face of Marc Valiente, who needs an operation on his cheekbone.

“I am sure that there was no intention,” he added. “I hope that they understand that.

“Aduriz is mortified by what he's done, and we all hope Valiente gets better soon.”
