Negredo: Sevilla are changed

Alvaro Negredo has enthused that Sevilla have changed their mentality and approach under new Coach Unai Emery.

The striker netted the second in Los Nervionenses’ 3-0 win over Granada on Monday night and was upbeat at the end for the effect Emery has had.

“Yes, something has changed. The mindset, the determination, the fans. It’s a combination of things that has made everything better,” he told reporters at full-time.

“That is not to say that previously it was so bad. Each Coach has his methods. Unai wants us to squeeze opponents, pressure, force them to lose possession.

“We are doing well, but we can still do better. Winning games in the League was the minimum.”

Sevilla travel out to Madrid on Thursday evening for the first leg of their Copa del Rey semi-final with Atletico Madrid.

“The semi-final is special. We have to take something positive from the first leg. We have much ambition and the fans have even more for us. We have to take something positive away from the Vicente Calderon.”
