Majority shareholder at Mallorca Llorenc Serra Ferrer has backed Joaquin Caparros to turn around the club’s fortunes, at least until the weekend.
Caparros’ team fell to a 3-2 defeat at the weekend at home to Malaga, to leave them without a win in front of their own fans since September.
However, Serra Ferrer told reporters on Monday evening that he sees Caparros as ‘strong enough’ to continue in his role and that the players ‘are motivated and have the desire to reverse this situation’.
“I would not take such decisions,” Serra Ferrer also said. “He will sit on the bench next Sunday.”
At the same time, though, it is understood that Caparros must avoid defeat next weekend away to Real Sociedad if he is to continue as Coach.
