Angel Di Maria reflected that Real Madrid ‘made it easy for themselves’ on Sunday evening in their 5-0 win over Valencia.
Los Che were flattened by a resurgent Madrid in the first half at Mestalla, conceding all five before the break.
“It was a match that we made easy for ourselves,” commented Argentine winger Di Maria to reporters afterwards.
“We did things well from the start. It was important to keep our winning streak going.
“There are some matches that are difficult and others that are easier, but this time we had a great match and we went out to press forward as we have been doing and we got a lot of goals.
“It is an important win and means that we keep closing the gap.
“The match on Wednesday is a different match and it will be difficult. It's a Cup tie and they will set out to win from the start. Hopefully we can repeat what we did today.
“My performance? I had a great match. It says a lot and maybe closed a few mouths.”
