Espanyol boss Javier Aguirre was delighted after the final whistle as his side came from behind to beat Mallorca 3-2.
Goals from Simao, Joan Verdu and Raul Baena were enough to give the Periquitos the three points at Estadi Cornelia-El Prat.
And the Mexican conceded his pleasure with the hard-fought win.
“We knew we had to become strong at home if we wanted to escape relegation,” he told a Press conference.
“It hasn't been easy tonight, but these points will prove very important come the end of the season.
“Although we lacked something at the start, I am really happy with the overall performance of my team.”
