Bielsa refuses to blame officials

Marcelo Bielsa has refused to blame the referee for his side's 2-1 loss to Rayo Vallecano on Friday night.

The Franjirrojos converted a contentious penalty midway through the second half after it looked like Carlos Gurpegi tripped Alejandro Dominguez outside the area.

But the Argentine Coach has admitted that the officials were not the reason his team lost the game.

“Although the referee did not make the correct decision, he does not deserve condemnation from me,” Bielsa told a Press conference.

“We can't hold the officials responsible for the defeat because we had more than enough chances to win the game.

“It was business as usual from us,” he added. “So I don't really want to repeat myself.

“The difference between the two teams was in front of goal – we had twelve chances to score and converted one.

“They had three chances and scored two.”
