Juan Ignacio Martinez conceded that Levante did not do enough to deserve anything other than elimination from the Copa del Rey.
Los Granotes fell to a 2-0 second leg defeat at Real Zaragoza, thanks to goals from Franco Zuculini and Paco Montanes either side of a Hector Rodas red card for the visitors.
That defeat made it 3-0 on aggregate and ended Levante’s Cup run at the Last 16 stage.
“Before their first goal, we were not troubled, but the tie was against us and we were undeserving of a result,” commented Coach Martinez at full-time.
“A goal would have gotten us back into the game, but things were decided with the red card [for Rodas] and their second goal.
“However, we can take many positives, especially with all the respect and commitment shown by the players.”
