Joaquin Caparros is happy that his Mallorca team ended their Copa del Rey clash with Sevilla in better spirits.
The island side ran out 2-1 winners on the night thanks to a second half turnaround. Whilst it did not affect the inevitability of Last 16 elimination after the first leg’s 5-0 defeat, it left the Coach in a better mood.
“For me, it was hard for us to be motivated after the 5-0 first leg defeat and in the first half that was clear to see,” Caparros began in reflection afterwards.
“But, in the second half we came out with a different attitude and we got the goals. There were no injuries, the new guys have also had some playing time, which was essential.
“Now we must think towards Saturday’s game against Valladolid. We have to face every game like it is a final, as if it is the most important in the championship and play every game like it is the last game.”
