Granada’s Benitez out for three weeks

Granada midfielder Dani Benitez will be out for three weeks after tearing his hamstring against Valencia last Saturday.

The 25-year-old was replaced at half-time in the match with Ernesto Valverde's side, but only this evening have doctors confirmed that he has torn fibres in his right hamstring.

The injury will leave the on-loan Udinese man out of action for at least three weeks, meaning he will miss games against Getafe, Rayo Vallecano and Sevilla.

Benitez becomes the sixth El Grana player they will have to do without for the game with the Azulones.

Darwin Machis and Youssef El Arabi are missing due to international commitments – with Colombia Under-20's and Morocco respectively.

Midfielder Fran Rico also has to sit out through injury and Inigo Lopez and Mikel Rico are both suspended for the clash at Coliseum Alfonso Perez next Monday.
