Valverde happy to start 2013 with win

Valencia boss Ernesto Valverde was pleased to start the year with a win as his side came from behind to beat Granada.

Jonas and Pablo Piatti cancelled out Brayan Angulo's earlier effort to give Los Che the three points that sees them up to seventh place in the table.

And the 48-year-old tactician has admitted that he was pleased with the win and also commented on the early sending off of El Grana man Mikel Rico.

“I am happy to start the year with a win,” he told a Press conference. “It was a pretty good performance and I hope we continue along the same lines.

“We had a lot of opportunities to score, so I always felt as if the goal would come.

“We dominated the game when it was 11 against 11 but the sending off is up to the referee.

“Playing against 10 men is always tough because the opponent steps back, but we were satisfied to get the win.”
