Valencia boss Ernesto Valverde has reportedly asked the club to pursue the signature of Olympiakos forward Rafik Djebbour.
Djebbour, a French-born Algerian international, has been with the Greek powerhouse since 2011, scoring 12 goals for them this season.
Valverde was in charge of Olympiakos from 2010 until April this year, and is said by French magazine L’Equipe to be keen to be reunited with his former charge.
The move would be a surprise as Los Che were expected to be more busy in terms of outgoings in January, with a striker not thought to be in sporting director Braulio Vazquez’s plans.
