Athletic Bilbao boss Marcelo Bielsa believes his side can get through the early season slump that has seen them sit in 14th position in La Liga.
The San Mames side have won just five of their first 15 League games, have been eliminated from the Copa del Rey by lowly Eibar and were knocked out of the Europa League during the group stages.
But the Argentine tactician has claimed that his men will get back to the side they were last season.
“The players have to generate some optimism to replace what is currently generated,” he told a Press conference.
“We have to imagine that we can reverse the current situation.
“I have optimism that this will change. This season has been humiliating, but it would be absurd just to give up.”
