JIM ‘frustrated’ by Zaragoza

Juan Ignacio Martinez has reiterated Levante’s desire in the Copa del Rey, speaking of the frustration felt in losing their first leg tie to Real Zaragoza.

Los Granotes were felled 1-0 on their own turf on Thursday evening thanks to a goal by Carlos Aranda in this Last 16 clash.

“A moment of genius by Aranda decided the game and now that goal has seen the tie become more difficult for us,” reflected JIM afterwards.

“Before the game we discussed how this is a tournament where the emotional states vary widely.

“Now we can think of many things, but we have taken a competitive team into this game to get the best result.

“We are frustrated, Levante does not give anything anyway.”

The Coach, who took the team into Europe last season for the first time in their history, was quizzed on the apparent delays in him signing a new contract with the club.

“Manolo [Salvador] and I have had a lot of meetings. I’m delighted and have said before that I have been hired for a purpose and that if I do not achieve it then I should more on.

“When we do achieve it, we will sit down and there will be no problem.”
