Pepe Mel has warned his Real Betis players that Las Palmas are going to provide tough competition in their Copa del Rey clash.

Betis travel out to the Canary Islands for the first leg of their Last 16 Copa del Rey clash this Thursday and for their Coach, it is a tricky tie.

“We will not face a Segunda Division team, but a side full of experienced players, they are doing very well this season so far,” Mel told reporters in his pre-match Press conference.

“Thinking that this will be easy will be a mistake. Winning will not be easy, because at their ground they are going to make things very difficult.

“Tomorrow I will make some changes, but those that will play will have many games of experience in La Liga.

“We will play an XI with consideration towards both the Cup and the weekend’s League match against Vigo. I still believe that this competition is the easiest way to get into Europe.

“But, it remains best to look only at the next game rather than to do the pools. Now we are thinking about winning in the Cup and that there are only six games to play to get into Europe.”
