Rayo Vallecano President Raul Martin Presa has criticised the club's fans after a small minority protested against the team.
The Franjirrojos owner has urged supporters not to turn against the team after a number of them unfurled banners during the 2-0 defeat against Real Zaragoza on Monday night.
“My Coach [Paco Jemez] is angry because there was an unusual environment,” he told AS. “And I agree with him.
“We want to thank the fans for coming to the stadium, but the time to protest is before or after the game, not during it.
“It is not an excuse for the defeat, but there was an unusual environment in the stadium – there were several banners, which like it or not, do put the players off.
“Everyone has the right to protest, but I don't want that to harm the team.”
