Celta pattern worries Herrera

Paco Herrera has admitted that he is growing increasingly concerned by his Celta Vigo side’s no-show displays on the road this season.

The Galicians fell to a 1-0 reverse at San Mames this weekend to make it the seventh defeat from eight played away from home this season in La Liga, and the fifth away defeat by only the single goal.

“We were worse than at Zaragoza [where the team won 1-0]. I worry that with every passing week we are the same, because we did not deserve to get even a draw,” lamented Herrera after his side’s latest loss, thanks to Aritz Aduriz’ first-half strike.

“My concern is to reverse this situation, I do not know whether we need to be more defensive, but we need to have greater success in both penalty areas.

“The only thing left is to continue investing in the philosophy and for the fans, because they are our motivation and we will fight to achieve greater things.

“Despite the result, I have to congratulate the players for many things and we are strengthened for our next game.

“Athletic worked hard, they got more out of the game.”
