Athletic Bilbao defender Borja Ekiza has admitted he is delighted with Coach Marcelo Bielsa's show of faith in him.
The 24-year-old has been given an extended run in the side, playing seven League games so far in the campaign, and has conceded that he is 'flattered' to be chosen for the first XI.
“I am working hard every day,” he told terra.es. “The Coach does not give anything away to anyone, but I feel flattered to be able to play the minutes I have.
“Because all that can change in an instant.”
He also commented on Los Leones' poor defensive record, which has seen them conceded the most amount of goals in La Liga.
“Our defence is not bad and offensively our strikers are not at fault,” he said. “This is a problem of the whole team.
“Everyone in attack and everyone in defence – we have to try and all go in the same direction to solve the problems.”
