Muniain wants result at Barca

Iker Muniain has warned that he and his Athletic Bilbao teammates will be going to the Camp Nou on Saturday for a result against Barcelona.

Athletic are loitering near the wrong end of the table after a poor start to the season, but it has not detracted Muniain from a positive mindset in travelling to Barca this Saturday.

“This game is always nice to play as a game of football because we never go to Camp Nou with anything other than the desire to pick up a positive result,” commented the diminutive winger.

“There is no formula to beating them, if we find our level of play and are there for each other, there will be chances to achieve a better result.

“In these games, you cannot hand your opponents any opportunities, they won’t be forgiven. There have been times this season when we have been like we were last year, but it has taken work.

“Lately, though, we are recovering the same feelings. I do not think anyone makes it as tough for teams as we do.”

The youngster also reflected on the announcement of the three players shortlisted for the 2012 Ballon d’Or, picking out his personal preference.

“Messi deserves the Ballon d’Or. He is the best in the world and it is very difficult to stop him.

“Leo is always a concern, I think he will be at the same level as always on Saturday.”
