Paco Herrera has commented that Celta Vigo did enough in his eyes to deserve all three points at Real Zaragoza, even if ‘a draw would also have been fair’.
Herrera saw his side end a losing streak of six on the road in La Liga with Monday night’s smash-and-grab 1-0 result at La Romareda.
Despite seeing Zaragoza dominate possession, the tactician did see enough reason for Celta to have taken at least a point from the match.
“It is deserved because we scored more than Zaragoza, but a draw would also have been fair for what happened,” admitted the Coach.
“Zaragoza dominated more, we have tightened at the back very well, particularly in the first half, and we have not quit playing, which is something that we do well, even if ultimately it is results that matter in football.
“We had a good defensive balance and helped close out the spaces on the pitch and earn us the win. Celta had two clear chances, one was a goal and the other was not. Zaragoza dominated but only had the one chance.
“We are learning game by game, we played this game with nine home-grown players.”
