Marcelo Bielsa admits that for what is available to him, Athletic Bilbao should be higher than they currently are in the table.
Athletic sit 14th after the opening 12 rounds of League action, as they prepare to host Deportivo Sunday afternoon.
“Before starting a competition there is a projection that places a team in terms of resources, potential and expectations. Remaining balanced, Athletic should hold a position in the top third or quarter of the League table, so the current readings requires us to reverse the trend,” pondered El Loco today.
“The number of goals we have conceded is disproportionate and not reflective of the team’s level.
“We would have had more points but for individual mistakes in defensive positions. So, obviously it is something that also has to do with the collective.
“These areas are linked to organisational responsibility that comes under my influence.”
The Coach declined to speculate on how the home crowd will take to Fernando Llorente, who is in line to start the weekend’s match.
