Levante qualify with win in Sweden

Goals from Angel, Papa Diop and Vicente Iborra were enough to give Levante a 3-1 win over Helsingborgs and see them qualify from Group L.

A point in Sweden was guaranteed to put Juan Ignacio Martinez's men through to the knockout stages, and they got off to the best possible start by opening the scoring after eight minutes.

A Ruben Garcia past found Angel inside the area, and the 25-year-old slotted past Par Hansson for an early lead.

The Granotes continued to dominate possession and eventually doubled their advantage late on in the half. A Pedro Rios cross found Diop, who headed home from close-range.

After the break the home side started to impose themselves more on the game. Alejandro Bedoya had a good chance to pull one back – but shanked his effort wide.

The visitors though, made the result safe with nine minutes remaining as Jose Barkero's cut-back was swept in by Iborra.

The Mjolkkassen did eventually grab the consolation goal that their second half performance deserved, but Thomas Sorum’s strike in the last minute was not enough to inspire a comeback.
