‘Osasuna to progress, in reality’

Miguel Flano has reflected that Osasuna’s weekend win at Espanyol is a turning point that the team can progress from, whilst remaining realistic.

The Pamplona outfit recorded a 3-0 result in Catalonia to close the gap on both Los Pericos and the other sides immediately above them in the League.

Currently 20th, however, Flano has warned that the team must remain ‘in reality’ whilst trying to capitalise on current confidence.

“We can move forward, but with our feet on the ground know that if we look at the table, it still reflects what the situation is,” commented the defender after training today.

“We have to continue for many games and maintain some consistency. The win at Espanyol was a major one for all, it was hard to see everyone looking so down and that things were not going well. These were some difficult times.

“The mindset now is very different for the players, we are happy to have moved forward in a game, whilst still being realistic.

“We know that it was an important step for our mood and belief in what we are doing. At the moment, the table is not relevant, we probably will not get out of the relegation zone in one or two weeks or even a month, we only think now of getting three points in our next game and continuing to progress.”

Osasuna host Malaga next weekend at home.
