Levante hold Twente in goalless draw

Levante held FC Twente to an uninspiring goalless draw at De Grolsch Veste Enschede on Thursday night.

Juan Ignacio Martinez's men were looking for the three points that would go some way to securing their path through the group stages of the Europa League, but started the match rather tentatively in Holland.

A barrage of corners from Steven McClaren's men tested the Granotes defence early on, but the visitors held out with a resolute backline.

The Tukkers maintained their dominance in possession, but failed to create any real clear-cut chances.

After the break, the Eredivisie side continued to press for the opening goal as Edson Braafheid and Roberto Rosales forced Keylor Navas into saves.

Pape Diop could have scored the winner late on, but Levante held out for a share of the points.
