Philippe Montanier has refused to criticise his team or react to criticism he received from the fans at the end of Real Sociedad’s defeat today.
Espanyol ran out 1-0 winners at Anoeta to make it two consecutive defeats at home and four from the last five games in League and Cup.
The full-time whistle was greeted by chants and whistles protesting against Montanier.
“The result was not deserved. I will not comment on the whistles at the end,” reflected Montanier after the game. The Coach took more than hour to come out and face the Press post-match.
“One point does not reflect what has been merited in our last three games.
“The team played the right game today, improved in the second half but were hit very hard by Espanyol’s goal.”
