‘Treat Barca like anyone else’

Michael Krohn-Dehli has urged his Celta Vigo teammates to look at the trip to Barcelona as if it were any other game.

The Galicians travel east to Catalonia for this evening’s League encounter looking for a first League win at Camp Nou since October 1941.

However, for Krohn-Dehli, whose team can boast as many draws as defeats from their last 10 visits to Barca, the game must be approached with the correct mental attitude.

“Ultimately we are players against players and anything can happen. It is a great club and an important match for anyone,” the Dane told Grada360.com.

“As a footballer you must always have the same mentality, though, which is to give the best of yourself in every game and to think as a collective when playing, regardless of the opponent. Everything else is secondary.

“They are very strong in all areas of the pitch, but I think that they are most potent from midfield going into attack. To avoid giving them possession will be difficult.

“The goal is to give our best, to play like we know and to get something positive out of this. A player’s mentality should always be towards winning.

“It is a great stadium, a nice place to play, but the motivation is the same in every game. It will be difficult, but we have to treat it like any other game.”
