Perotti out injured again

Diego Perotti has injured his hamstring and has been confirmed as ruled out of action for the next two to three weeks for Sevilla.

The winger only just returned from a long injury lay-off in Week 8 as a substitute against Mallorca, before also managing 45 minutes last weekend in the defeat at Real Zaragoza.

It was the 24-year-old’s first appearances for Sevilla since May, when he was forced to undergo surgery on a problematic back injury.

His original return from that injury was scheduled for August, only for the Argentine to then injure his right calf during pre-season training, delaying him until late October’s comeback.

Perotti, in finally returning to the pitch, has since complained of soreness in his left thigh and tests today have confirmed that he has in fact damaged his left hamstring with a grade 1-2 tear and now faces another two to three weeks out on the sidelines.

A statement on Sevilla’s website confirmed the news and also made clear that it was unrelated to August’s muscle injury on his calf.
