Athletic Bilbao Coach Marcelo Bielsa has claimed his side deserved more after their 2-1 loss to Olympique Lyonnais.
A late Jimmy Briand goal was enough to give the French team the three points, but the Argentine tactician believes his men controlled the game.
“We had 85 minutes of domination,” he told a Press conference. “But we suffered a bad five minutes, and that cost us the match.
“Our equaliser had more of an effect on Lyon that it did on us – and that is hard to understand.
“We could not defend well because we were dismembered, and that's why we didn't win. Maybe a bit more aggression would have put the game in our favour.”
He also commented on the likelihood of qualifying from Group I after gaining just one point from the first three games.
“After obtaining a single point out of nine, we can't be optimistic,” he said. “We need to win our next three matches, so we can't give up.”
