Barca taped Pepe misdemeanours claim

Barcelona have secretly made videos of Real Madrid defender’s Pepe’s misdemeanours in Los Clasicos, according to Catalunya Radio.

La Blaugrana are understood to have recorded a series of fouls committed by the Portuguese international in games between Spain’s big two in the space of two weeks in 2011 – in particular on Lionel Messi – with the videos kept safely under lock and key in an office at the Camp Nou.

The radio station’s El Club de la Mitjanit programme claims Barca put together a team of technical analysts formed by Domenec Torrent, Carles Planchart and Alex Garcia, who were responsible for capturing the images.

It is also alleged the videos were done with the consent of former boss Pep Guardiola and current Head Coach Tito Vilanova, the latter having responded angrily to suggestions the referee had favoured his team in the latest El Clasico by saying ‘we could make a video of Pepe’s kicks’.

It is understood that the Barcelona hierarchy, for now, have decided not to make the contents of them public.
