Pellegrino on Bielsa, Simeone

Mauricio Pellegrino has reflected on the Argentine Coaches he is preparing to face in the coming weeks, Marcelo Bielsa and Diego Simeone.

Pellegrino is currently getting ready for next weekend’s visit to Mestalla of Bielsa and his Athletic Bilbao side, for Week 8’s League clash.

“I shared a year with him when I was a player and I learned a lot both personally and professionally,” reflected the former defender, who yesterday also spoke of the difficult start his side have endured this season.

“Marcelo has great prestige for Argentine Coaches and in our football. The preparation that Bielsa has demonstrated and what he has taught, he is one of the most knowledgeable technicians in Argentina.”

The Valencia boss then faces in Los Che’s next home match in Week 10 another notable Argentine Coach in Spanish football, Diego Simeone.

“I don’t know El Cholo as much as a Coach. I’ve known him as a professional and I think that he is coaching in the same way that he was a player.

“Atletico also have a scorer who is off the charts in Radamel Falcao and they are doing great. They are going to be a team fighting until the end.

“They may be there [fighting for third], but there is still much to happen in the League. In any case, our future will depend more on what we are able to do ourselves, rather than on others.”
