PSG upping Neymar interest

Paris Saint-Germain are increasingly seen as an option for Brazilian star Neymar, even if it is also reported that he won’t move until after the World Cup.

Punto Pelota allege that the 20-year-old striker, who has long been a target for both Real Madrid and Barcelona, has been approached in recent weeks by PSG’s sporting director Leonardo and former Brazilian player Rai.

It is understood that the French are keen to agree a low-cost deal for the player previously valued at €50m.

This is seen as an attempt by the Ligue 1 outfit to take advantage of his reported willingness to run his contract down towards its conclusion after the 2014 World Cup and for them to edge ahead of Real and Barca in any negotiations.

Both Spanish clubs have previously been reported as having held extensive talks with the player and his representatives and even to have sent over medical staff to assess him physically, but both are reportedly behind PSG now in terms of progression of negotiations.
