Valencia goalkeeper Vicente Guaita says that losing to local rivals Levante makes Sunday’s result all the harder to swallow.
Guaita was beaten in the 22nd minute by a well-taken Obafemi Martins shot for the only goal of the lunchtime kick-off, and the ‘keeper admitted afterwards that he and his teammates were hurting.
“I’m hurt. Losing in the field to rivals of Valencia hurts more,” he lamented to reporters afterwards.
“The team has worked enough to get a draw, but in the end we did not succeed.
“They have locked their defence and we found it very difficult to enter. They managed to shut out for the match and we could not score that equaliser.
“However, we have to raise ourselves, although there is a week with competition, we immediately turn to the game against Athletic Bilbao.”
