JIM: Levante paid for errors

Levante boss Juan Ignacio Martinez admitted his side had paid a heavy price for their mistakes in the 2-1 defeat at Hannover.

It was Los Granotes’ first loss in the Europa League group stages as the German outfit came from behind despite the handicap of having Karim Haggui dismissed inside the opening 10 minutes.

“We took the lead early on but in Europe they make you pay for your errors,” Martinez told a Press conference.

“We didn’t expect them to raise their game as much as they did and that was a blow for us. They were very brave with 10 men and but this was something we should have overcome.

“It was a game we lost inside seven minutes. We had the strength but somehow couldn’t finish things off.”

However, Martinez believes his players will quickly forget the defeat to the Bundesliga side.

“On Sunday we have a very important game [at home to Valencia] but have little time to prepare for it.

“Even so, we are hoping this week’s bad run will soon change,” he added.
