Jemez: Valladolid won’t have the ball

Rayo Vallecano boss Paco Jemez is in confident mood ahead of his teams meeting with Real Valladolid at Estadio Jose Zorrilla on Sunday.

Whilst the Franjirrojos Coach respects their weekend opponents, he also believes his side have what it takes to claim their third victory of the season.

“They have made a good start to the season,” Jemez told a press conference. “Valladolid are a team that want to play and can play. If you try to press them and stop their play, they can hit you on the counter-attack.

“Their Coach forces them to play football. It's a team with good technical ability, but let me make this clear – they won't have much of the ball because we are going to create problems.

“We can win. We are in high spirits and things are going well. The defeat against Real Madrid was no problem. These things happen. We have to accept it and focus on this game.

“We understand that, however much it hurts, defeats can sometimes be good.”

Jemez elaborated on the tactical approach he will bring to the game.

“I'm not a Coach who changes much. I may change a player or two, but there won't be a lot of changes. The chances are that we will play with a back-four, especially since they have players that can hurt us between the lines.

“We want to try and get people into midfield, which is where they will have the ball and enjoy superiority.”
