Police interview ex-Rayo employees

Spanish police are interrogating former Rayo Vallecano employees as they continue their investigation into Sunday's sabotage.

Rayo's fixture against Real Madrid had to be postponed after it became apparent lighting cables had been sabotaged at the Campo de Vallecas.

AS report that police are today speaking to former employees of the club, as they try to establish exactly what happened and identify the culprits. Another line of investigation involves looking at radical fan groups, as season ticket holders were unhappy with the club's decision to charge them extra to attend Sunday's game.

Police apparently retrieved evidence such as shoeprints at the scene, but the club has said this will not lead to any immediate arrests.

It had been speculated that counter-terrorism experts would take over the case, but that has not transpired.

Following repairs the match eventually took place last night, goals from Karim Benzema and Cristiano Ronaldo giving Los Blancos a 2-0 win.
