Marcelo Bielsa said that if there had been a winner in his side’s 0-0 draw with Malaga then it should have been Athletic Bilbao.
The Bilbao boss believed Los Leones created more chances than Manuel Pellegrini’s men, although he lamented the fact his side had lots of possession but did not make it count.
“It was a game of few chances but if there had to have been a winner then it should have been us because we had the more clear-cut opportunities,” the Argentine told a Press conference.
“However, what matters from our perspective is that we had a lot of the ball but could not manage to win.
“The positive thing is that we defended well but the negative aspect is that we had many minutes of possession and did not produce many offensive actions.”
Bielsa also stressed that his players ‘lacked fluency’ and ‘made too many mistakes in their haste to attack’.
