Herrera: Celta on right road

Celta Vigo boss Paco Herrera claims his team are on the right road after the 2-1 victory over Getafe at Balaidos.

A 68th minute volley from Park Chu Young swung the game in the Galicians’ favour and Herrera said he was pleased with how his team had improved since the start of the season.

“I asked the players to improve in both boxes and that is what they have done, although we missed too many chances in the first half,” he told a Press conference.

However, he was delighted with the performances of Augusto Fernandez and Michael Krohn-Dehli, who both joined the club in the summer from Velez Sarsfield and Brondby respectively.

“They are both gaining in confidence and look happy in the team and I hope they continue to get even better, but I was pleased with the whole side, particularly since both goals came from our wide players.”

The only negative aspect from Herrera’s point of view was that he was sent to the stands for complaining to the referee, although he apologised afterwards while claiming he ‘did nothing wrong’.

He did admit, however, that he had told the referee to ‘calm down’ after a foul on Iago Aspas in the first half, something that cost him a first expulsion as Celta Coach, but he joked about it later.

“It will cost me the price of a meal for the players,” he declared.
