‘Valencia will want all three points’

Victor Casadesus acknowledges that Mallorca have their work cut out this weekend to maintain their unbeaten start to the season, in welcoming Valencia.

Los Che arrive at Iberostar Stadium for the Sunday lunchtime kick-off and striker Casadesus says they will be going all out for the three points against his Mallorca.

“Valencia have had a very tough game in midweek, but we should note that in the attacking play and against a team like Mallorca, they will want all three points to keep up in the League,” the 27-year-old asserted.

“They are a very strong opponent, one of the greats after Barcelona and Real Madrid, and anyone will always be hard pressed to beat them.

“Things are going well for us and we should try to continue that, but it is essential to then win or get a point against Valencia, to reach the end of the fifth round undefeated.”

So far, Casadesus has started three of the four League matches this term under Joaquin Caparros and scored his first of the season in the team’s last home match against Real Sociedad.

“There is a lot of competition to play up front. Here we have [Tomer] Hemed, [Javier] Arizmendi, Alfaro and then we’ll see what happens when [Giovani] Dos Santos is incorporated.

“This is good, though, because the Coach has to choose, and those that are doing the best will play.”
