Lassana Diarra has officially been confirmed as a new player of Anzhi Makhachkala, completing a transfer from Real Madrid.
The Frenchman’s move to the Russians was announced on the final day of the Spanish transfer window, but with the Russian window not closing until the end of this week, was not closed.
However, Anzhi have today confirmed the midfielder’s arrival, thought to be for a fee of €6m, via a brief statement on their website.
Diarra has signed a four-year contract thought to be worth as much as €5m a season.
