Del Horno to re-sign at Levante

Free agent Asier del Horno is reportedly hours away from agreeing to re-sign for Levante on a one-year deal.

The former Athletic Bilbao, Valencia and Atletico Madrid left-back had spent the previous two season with Levante, but has officially been without a club after his contract expired in June.

Negotiations through the summer, however, have been with Los Granotes over terms of a renewal and those terms are now being reported as within days of being agreed.

According to Superdeporte, the 31-year-old will put pen to paper on a one-year contract at Ciutat de Valencia, with an automatic renewal dependant upon two outcomes.

Del Horno’s contract will be extended for another year from 2013 if first, as is the case with other members of the squad, Levante avoid relegation and second, if the player makes at least 25 appearances this season.

The full-back has suffered with injury in his career and last term only managed 13 appearances for Juan Ignacio Martinez’ team.
