Zaragoza snap up Babovic

Real Zaragoza have snapped up Stefan Babovic from Partizan Belgrade, reports El Periodico de Aragon.

Babovic, 25, will pen a four-year deal at La Romareda and becomes boss Manolo Jimenez’s 11th signing of the summer to complete Los Manos’ squad.

The central midfielder [pictured, right] has been a regular for the past two seasons during his second spell with Partizan.

However, former President Ljubisa Tumbakovic had promised him he would allow him to move abroad if a suitable offer arrived.

“Babovic had my permission to leave if an acceptable bid for both him and the club was received.

“That offer came from Zaragoza and we are going to miss him,” explained Tumbakovic.

The Serbian international has also had spells with OFK Beograd, Nantes and a loan period with Feyenoord.
