Rosell dreams of maintaining Barca

Sandro Rosell says that it would be much easier for Barcelona if they could remain unchanged going forward, but that this is just ‘dreaming’.

The Catalans go into the new campaign with a new Coach on the bench in former assistant Tito Vilanova, after Pep Guardiola departed in the summer for a sabbatical from the game.

Having presided over the club for part of their unprecedented success during Guardiola’s four terms in charge, Rosell is aware of the idealism behind maintaining continuity at the club.

“We know there are many possibilities and that there is always someone around the corner waiting for the right moment [to topple the club]…it is inevitable, but it is also a part of our essence!” he told Avui today.

“If Barca remained always together and heading in the same direction then it would be much easier for Barca and much harder for our opponents. But that is dreaming.

“And if I start to dream then that is unhelpful. How many titles can we win? I hope for all of them. We are ready to play for this League and to fight to win it back.”
