Perotti setback for Sevilla

Diego Perotti has suffered a setback in his plans to recover from injury problems that have dogged him for two years.

Sevilla winger Perotti has broken down in training and is hopeful that it is not yet another obstacle to his return to first team action.

His ordeal began in July 2010 when he suffered a leg injury in a pre-season game but first encountered serious discomfort after the campaign had started in a match with Sporting Gijon in October.

The Argentine international had to leave the pitch with a thigh injury that resulted in him being sidelined for over a month, yet on his reappearance against Getafe in early December he had to be replaced by Manu del Moral after just 30 minutes with a hamstring strain.

The 24-year-old then missed several games before he was diagnosed with a herniated disc in April, after which he was sent to be operated on in Chicago causing him to miss 22 La Liga games last term.

Sevilla boss Michel is praying Perotti can return to first-team action as soon as possible to prevent him having to delve into the transfer market for a replacement.
