Getafe offer Colunga for Alvaro

Adrian Colunga is the key to Getafe’s bid to take Espanyol striker Alvaro Vazquez to the Coliseum Alfonso Perez.

Colunga was on the bench for El Geta in their 2-1 defeat at Sevilla on Saturday and has found it difficult to cement a place in the starting line-up over the last two seasons.

As a result, reports AS, the 27-year-old will be offered as bait for Spanish Under-21 international Alvaro [pictured] who is in dispute with the Catalans and is believed to be owed around €500,000 in unpaid wages.

Espanyol would also receive a cash sum for the 21-year-old, who is also interesting Sevilla and Deportivo de La Coruna.

Alvaro is a product of Los Periquitos’ youth academy and has denounced the club over the money he believes he is owed, although he recently stated that he feels his future still lies at Cornella El-Prat.

“My future is here at Espanyol. I have a year left on my contract and I want to renew,” he said in an interview with AS.
