Armenteros blow for Osasuna

Argentine midfielder Emiliano Armenteros will miss Osasuna’s game with Deportivo de La Coruna at Riazor on Monday with a groin injury.

The former Sevilla player, who has spent the last two seasons on loan at Rayo Vallecano, had exercised normally with the rest of the players during the week.

However, a report in Marca says he felt some discomfort in training on Sunday which will cause him to miss the La Liga opener.

Armenteros is Coach Jose Luis Mendilibar’s only injury absentee for the trip to Galicia, while he has left defenders Ruben Gonzalez,Jon Echaide and Fernando Macedo out of the squad for technical reasons along with midfielder Masoud Shojael and striker Manu Onwu.

The 18 players selected are Andres Fernandez, Asier Riesgo, Marc Bertran, Miguel Flano, Arribas, Oier, Damia, Punal, Lolo, Sisi, Cejudo, Lamah, Roberto Torres, Timor, Raoul Loe, Nino, Kike Sola and Llorente.
