Jemez happy with Rayo start

New Rayo Vallecano boss Paco Jemez declared himself happy with his players after the 3-0 friendly defeat of Alcala.

Goals from Andrija Delibasic, Adrian Gonzalez and Juli gave Los Franjirrojos a comfortable victory over the Segunda B side on Jemez’s debut as Head Coach on Sunday, following his departure from Cordoba over the summer.

“The most important thing in pre-season is not the result but what you do on the pitch,” Jemez told Rayo’s official website.

“We’ve only had five days training and we still have a lot of things to perfect and improve upon, but I am happy with the players’ work in this friendly.”

New signings Nicki Bille, Jose Carlos and Adrian Gonzalez were all making their first appearances for Rayo, but Jemez was encouraged by what he saw.

“The new players did very well and playing to the standard they did then I would say that is an acceptable level.”
