Getafe right-back joins Turks

Uruguayan defender Pablo Pintos has left Getafe to join Turkish Super Lig club Kasimpasa on a free transfer, reports AS.

The 25-year-old right-back still had three years remaining on his contract at the Coliseum Alfonso Perez but has made just six La Liga appearances since joining from Lazio in August 2010, although he never played a game for the Italians after the Italian Football Federation’s new non-European Union policy meant they were unable to register him having signed Hernanes from Sao Paulo.

Montevideo-born Pintos returned to his home city for the 2011-12 campaign when he was loaned back to former club Defensor, and his departure from Getafe comes as boss Luis Garcia Plaza seeks to strengthen his squad for next season.

President Angel Torres has already stated some players will need to be moved on if any are to be brought in, with goalkeeper Jordi Codina and striker Miku also believed to be on their way out of the club.
