Osasuna have reached agreement with Serbian striker Dejan Lekic to rescind his contract.
A statement on the club’s official website confirmed that following talks over the last few days, both parties had agreed ´to terminate their contractual relationship` after analysing the player’s performances since his €2.6m signing from Crvena Zvedza in July 2010.
The 27-year-old’s deal with the Pamplona-based club had until June 2015 to run and it is understood he has a proposal from Turkish Super Lig club Genclerbirligi on the table.
In his time at the Reyno de Navarra, Lekic disappointed with just six goals in 46 La Liga appearances, although he did not have the best of luck with injuries, and Osasuna said they wished to thank him for his services.
Los Rojillos are well covered in the striking department with Kike Sola, Ibrahima Balde, Nino and Manuel Onwu all in contention for a place in boss Jose Luis Mendilibar’s starting line-up next term.
